In common with most organizations today, customer relies heavily on email as a primary communication tool. IT Technical Operations Manager, explains: “Everything we do is by email. We get new instructions by email and we communicate with customers by email, so it’s critical to the day to day operation of the business.”
The customer had decided about two years ago to switch from a traditional in house email server to Microsoft Office 365, while everything appeared to work well initially, they soon noticed a gradual increase in spam and the number of phishing attempts being delivered via email.
The client had become increasingly concerned about the risk posed by targeted email attacks, in particular those delivered via malicious URLs and malware-loaded attachments. The main impact of these targeted attacks was, every time something got through, that would typically take up to ten people a couple of full days, they had to find the logs, fix the problem [by blocking it], and provide feedback to the users about what happened, why it happened, and how to prevent it from happening again.

The customer investigated three solutions and eventually chose Mimecast, based on the proposal presented by Know All Edge Networks. Know All Edge demonstrated exactly how the solution filtered and protected emails and introduced additional features that customer may eventually want to deploy.
