7 points to keep in mind for Backup and Recovery

7-point-to-keep-in-mind-for-backup-and-recovery
Everyone makes trekking plans with friends and family, then we make a checklist of what mandatory stuff we require for the trip which leads to successful trekking. Just like that, we have to make a checklist of our backup and recovery for our system. And also why it is important to have a Backup regularly and your data must be available to recover whenever needed

Check your Cloud storage: Mostly the big and small businesses have cloud storage to keep their data safe. Cloud servers save your data across servers and for instance if your data collapsed, your data will be saved on another server where your data is saved

Enough storage space: For backing up your data you have to check the storage of your Cloud storage, the more space you have the more space for backup. People keep their storage safe on cloud servers which have ample space and it becomes easy for you to save your data in it.

Full or Incremental backup: Full backup means saving your data with a single file to every huge folder. Incremental backup means to save only the specific file or folder which you will need. Not every piece of data is important for you, but keeping a backup of data is most important to your organization.

Frequency of backup: You have to schedule your backup as per your company’s needs. You shouldn’t be the one backing up your data. Your data should be on the scheduled time before you are attacked by ransomware malware. Your backup should be done daily, weekly, or monthly.

Security of data: Is your data safe from malware attacks, your company could be safe from cyber-attacks and data theft But is your data as safe as your system?. A global approach is mandatory to prevent those attacks. You have to upgrade your software every time so your data could detect potential threats, and act on them immediately. Continuous monitoring of your data is the best backup solution.

Holding your deleted records: An organization should never delete your data, they can retain it but should not be deleted physically. In your organization, maintaining the records of the customer, restoration of any folder or file will be easy in the cloud.

To summarize, each of the above points of the backup and recovery checklist may or may not be relevant to your use case. Decide what is relevant to your need, and ensure that your solution meets the requirements, and narrow it down to the best.
